Microsoft Course Descriptions

Central Texas College offers the following Microsoft courses:

ITMT 1400 – Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Windows XP Professional:
Addresses the implementation and desktop support needs of customers that are planning to deploy and support Microsoft Windows XP Professional in a variety of stand-alone and network operating system environments.
4 credit hours - (Certification Exam MS-70-270)
ITNW 1358 – Network+:
This course prepares individuals for a career as a Network Engineer in the information Technology support industry. It includes the various responsibilities and tasks required for service engineers to successfully perform in a specific environment. This course also prepares individuals to pass the Computing Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA) Network+ Certification exam.
3 credit hours - (Network+ Certification Exam)
ITMT 1440 – Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment:
Manage accounts and resources, maintain server resources, monitor server performance, and safeguard data in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment.
4 credit hours - (Certification Exam MS-70-290)
ITMT 1355 – Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Window Server 2003 Network Infrastructure: Network Host / Services:
AImplementing routing; implementing, managing, and maintaining Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS); securing Internet Protocol (IP) traffic with Internet Protocol security (IPSec) and certificates; implementing a network access infrastructure by configuring the connections for remote access clients; and managing and monitoring network access.
3 credit hours - (Certification Exam MS-70-291)
ITSY 1442 – Information Technology Security (Security+):
Instruction in security for network hardware, software, and data, including physical security; backup procedures; relevant tools; encryption; and protection from viruses.
4 credit hours – (Security+ Certification Exam)
